Special Agent Daniel Callaghan supervises the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) General Group. In this capacity, he oversees criminal investigations aimed at dismantling criminal organizations that conduct illegal trade practices. Special agents from the IPR group work closely with private industry partners in order to protect the intellectual property of numerous brand holders worldwide. SA Callaghan began his law enforcement career working for the New York Police Department (NYPD) in the summer of 2001. During the course of his NYPD career, he worked as a patrol officer, the NYPD’s Street Crime Unit, and as an investigator in the Vice Enforcement Division. In 2009, SA Callaghan was hired as a Special Agent with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Investigation and assigned to New York. During the course of his career with ICE HSI, SA Callaghan has worked in the Narcotics Smuggling and the IPR group. SA Callaghan received his bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Norwich University. SA Callaghan is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
